First Post 2 Month Well Check

Hi! I've decided to start a blog to document the precious times with my new baby girl Hayven. I'm off work until August & will hopefully have some time to document these times with her. I know when I go back to work in August the extra time will be few & far between, but hopefully I can keep it up. I love reading others' blogs and well, my preggo brain will probably turn to mommy mush, & I want to be able to recall these things for my sake & mostly her sake to share with her one day. I will probably go back to her birth story & catch up eventually. She's now 2 months, so I'm sure I won't have time to blog about everything that happened, but hopefully will feel I've gotten some of the important & fun things that have gone on. Let's start with her 2 month well check.

We went for Hayven's well check on Monday. She was actually 2 months and 3 days. I had vamped Bull up about the subject of her doctor's appointment since I went to her 1 month well check. She ending up getting a shot at her 1 month well check & she screamed bloody murder & I about died. When I made the next appointment, I made sure to make it in the late afternoon with the odds of Bull getting off to be much higher so he could hold her while she got her shots this time & let's be honest, to help me deal with it emotionally. Ha! It hurt my heart to have her hurt like that! Thankfully he got to get off in time & only managed a few teases about what time the appointment was like he always does with something that I constantly remind him of (he loves to pick at me). We got to the appointment & didn't have to wait very long. Hayven was all smiles & didn't know what was coming.
This was taken on Friday when she was actually 2 months.

The first thing was to get measured. Hay was 21 3/4 inches long. She grew an inch since her last appointment & is in the 20th percentile.

She's a little wiggle worm! She weighed 11.5 lbs. She gained almost 2 lbs since last month & is in the 50th percentile.

This was while we were waiting on the shots to come. Bless her bones. Sweet daddy was lovin' on her to try to get her mind off of it.

This was post shots while I was trying to console her. I may or may not had to stand facing the door while she got her shots with my hands over my ears. Sweet girl didn't scream as much as the last time, thank God, but it was still not fun. She showed daddy how much of a trooper she was.

This is what she thought about those yucky shots. We were told she would probably be fussy that that & could run a temp for 48 hours. She was just a little fussy, but not too bad. She got some extra cuddling!

At 2 months Hayven has been much more alert! She stays awake a lot more throughout the day & cat naps a lot. She's started cooing some & is very smiley! She loves when I wiggle her legs, morning talks after breakfast, being bounced, and daddy's kisses still. You dislike getting out of the bath & when you first have to get into your car seat. You have started sleeping through the night (Glory be to God) and sleep from about 11:30-7, but sometimes it differs. You take about five bottles a day & go about 4 hours between each feeding except at night. You eat 4 oz. each feeding with 2 tsp of rice cereal mixed in to help with your reflux & get 5 oz. at night before bedtime. You're currently on Zantac to help with your reflux as well, & I think it has helped tremendously! Hopefully you will be able to get off of it sooner or later, but for now, it's working.

I am LOVING who you are becoming & adore seeing your personality blossom every day. EVERYONE says you look like your daddy, which isn't fair because I carried you for 9 months! Ha! You definitely have my chubby cheeks though! You are my munchie, princess pie, chickypoodle, lump of lovins!

  1. This makes me super happy. Both the blog and the sweet pics of Hayven. I hate not being able to see her more often, so now I get to keep up!! AND I GET TO BE THE FIRST COMMENT :).
